HID Headlights and Other Auto Modifications

Automobile manufacturers nowadays are beginning to take notice on the HID Headlights, Clear Corner Lenses and Chrome Bulbs that has been the recent craze. HID Headlights produce much more light than the standard bulb and can increase the night time ratio significantly. Instead of people buying new vehicles, some have taken action and began installing HID Conversion Kits to their own cars.

There has been a lot of talk about whether HID Headlights are legal or against the law. If your vehicle came with HID Headlights, you are in the clear. The Police are having problems with the aftermarket HID Conversion Kits, but they won't pull you over as long as you follow a couple simple rules. One of them is to make sure that your HID Conversion Kit is at 6000k-8000k and also be sure that your lights are pointed in the right directions. If your lights are pointing up and blinding other drivers, you will get pulled over.

Some of the newest modifications that have been getting a lot of attention as of lately are Clear Corner Lenses and Chrome Bulbs being added to vehicles. Car Manufacturers have been jumping on this trend lately, but the problem is after auto manufacturers install the clear corner lenses to the vehicles, they still add those ugly yellow turn signal bulbs to the vehicle.

Stealth Auto has released a Chrome Bulb that almost looks invisible once installed with Clear Lenses. The coolest thing about these bulbs is they're 100% street legal. They blend in so well with the rest of the vehicle and once the bulbs are turned on, they blink in an amber/yellow color.

If you've been considering doing some modifications to your vehicle, we hope you consider the tips in this article. The mods that we mention here are easy to do and aren't expensive. Click on the links below to find out more.

A Look Into Getting Discount Tires

With prices rising and the economy failing, it is no wonder that people do their best to find discount tires for their tire needs. It is important that you don't just go out and buy a tire just because it is discounted though. There are several things that need to be taken into consideration.

First of all, think about tire safety.

A discount tire does not inevitably have to equate to a worn-out tire. Tires that you purchase at a discount should be manufactured from quality materials and should be durable. You ought to search for tires from reliable brand names when you are trying to find a discount bargain.

Now let's look into locating your tires.

These discounted tires may be found just about everywhere. Tire dealers and sellers may use promotional advertisements for their discounted items and possibly will provide limited discount coupons to their lucky customers. The following are some terrific locations where you can shop for discounted tires:

Check out local store locations in your area. There is a chance that they are running seasonal discounts on their tires. You just need to stay alert for sales so that you can take the best advantage of them.

You can also find discount tires for sale from retail stores and individuals using online page ads and auction sites. However, it can be frustrating trying to shop on this type of site. This is because, unless the ad is from a reputable retailer, it could be a scam and you may be wasting your money. You need to have a little knowledge and some experience if you are going to shop auctions for discount tires.

Now here are the benefits of online stores.

Convenience is a large benefit of shopping online. Once you select the specifications of the tires you desire, you can choose the best tire to meet your needs, and wait for it to be delivered. This allows you to do everything from selecting the tire you want, to researching it, to purchasing it, all from the comfort of your home.

Reputable online stores that have been in business for quite some time, have a history of integrity that they want to maintain. If you do your shopping at a reputable store, you will have a satisfactory experience. Your purchases can also come with manufacturers warranties.

In addition to delivering your discount tire, the good store will also provide ideas concerning the installation of your tire, or will know where you can have it installed.

2007 Volkswagen Jetta GLI Fahrenheit: Hotter Than Hot

Germany has invented and improved many of the things we use today. One of the best so far is the 2007 Volkswagen Jetta GLI. Everyone knows that German cars are high quality, reliable, and down right gorgeous. So what makes the GLI stand out from the rest? Well, great gas mileage for one thing and the performance on this vehicle is to die for. Not to mention it handles like it's on rails. This car is so hot no wonder they call it the Fahrenheit edition.

Why settle for the standard, when you can have a limited edition? With the 2007 Volkswagen Jetta GLI Fahrenheit edition, you know that you have a limited edition, mostly because it says so on the steering wheel. And, yes, there really is a plate on the steering wheel that has the edition number, like say, number 63 of 1200. With only 1200 of this particular edition made, there are a lot of reasons to get your hands on one, and not only to say that you have something that only 1,199 other people have.

With all the speed a GLI has you would expect it to be a crammed sports car, but not this German work of genius. This quick little Jetta is over fourteen feet in length and five feet in width. It's a real head turner too. The exterior color is yellow and the interior color is black with stitching that gives it an amazing contrast.

While you are behind the wheel of the GLI you will have all the comfort of an adjustable seat. However, not only does the seat move up, down, back, and forth, but you can also move the steering wheel wheel up, down, and it telescopes in and out too. Its interior height is about thirty-eight inches tall giving ample head room.

Lets get right down to the speed. The Fahrenheit has a turbo engine the pushes out 200 Horsepower. Plus, you get to choose between a 6 speed manual trans or a six-speed sport shifter in an automatic transmission. If that wasn't enough you get even more comfort with dual heated sports seats with height and lumbar adjustment.

The 2007 Volkswagen Jetta GLI Fahrenheit will get, on average, between twenty-three and twenty-five miles per gallon in city driving and about thirty-two miles per gallon on the highway, according to the EPA. It comes standard with eighteen inch wheels and a sunroof as well as a six-disc remote change CD player with satellite radio optional from Monsoon and a compass just in case you get lost.

To make this German phenomenon equipped with safety they improved the handling as well. It will practically eliminate the tendency of the GLI pulling to one side while accelerating. The GLI is equipped with traction control for those stormy nights.

The GLI Fahrenheit is everything that you would want out of a German car. It can be said that there is nothing like it on the market.

Stupendous Bargains At Automotive Auctions

Do you recall the cartoon the Flintstones? I love the episode about automotive auctions. The car they are bidding on is a gangster car involved in a bank robbery. They do not know a gangster sent one of his henchmen to bid the car and win it and bring it to their hideout. Fred is warned by the minion not to bid on it. Fred takes this as a challenge. Fred wins the bid because the henchman is eating a peanut butter sandwich and his mouth sticks and cannot open his mouth to outbid Fred.

The henchman finds out Fred's address after the boys drive off with the car from the automotive auction records. Fred and Barney do not realize the trunk is full of stolen money. They drive home to surprise their wives.

They show up at their homes with the gangsters stalking them right behind. The women fall in love with the big sedan. They want to throw a party in celebration. So they send the boys to the market for food. The gangsters are right behind them. They open up on the boys in front of them.

By this time the minion has informed the gangster and he and his other henchmen have gone to Fred's home and have followed him to the market. They start firing on Fred and Barney in the car ahead of them. The caveman pistols are a type of sling shot with a wooden barrel which fires rocks.

The boys are shelled with rocks. We believe that the rocks fired from these guns can be deadly. They are rocks after all. It worked for David against Goliath. The boys race trying to keep in front of their attackers. Up ahead is a large house on a hill. They race up the road looking for safety.

But they do not know this is the hide out of the head gangster. Fred and Barney are trapped. The gangsters tie them up and start asking where the money is. The boys have no idea what they are talkiing about. They were simply looking for a good deal at the automotive auction. The gangsters find the money in the trunk to the surprise of Fred and Barney.

The gangsters believe they are telling the truth that they did not know about the money. But because they know too much they have to be disposed of. He loads his gun. All of a sudden the police rush in. They had the car under surveillance at all times. They were trying to trap the gangster and his henchmen. They knew he would try to buy the car from the auction.

Fred and Barney are heroes. They do not end up with the car but they get a small reward for their trouble. Now you will probably not have such an adventure when you go to get a great deal at an automotive auction. All you will get is a good car at a great price.

Cheap Second Hand Trucks Available At Auctions

Defining The Auto Auction

You can find cheap used trucks at most auto auctions -- a variety of auction that pushes only vehicles like cars, trucks, SUV's, and more. Several millions of cars find new homes every year thanks to these types of auctions. Unfortunately, most are reserved for dealerships looking for new products to sell, but there are others that do cater to the public. Online auctions are also starting to gain popularity, for instance through eBay.

Extreme Low Pricing: Truth or Lie?

There are without a doubt some incredibly low prices present at each auction. Vehicles have been known to be driven off the lot for 90% off the price of an original, a sale owed to the fact that many cars that have been reposessed are shoveled back out into the market through auto auctions.

Many dealers have introduced the concept of "reserve pricing" lately to combat the low prices. What "reserve pricing" means is that a dealer will only sell a vehicle to a bidder if their winning bid is at or over that reserve price, which happens to be declared before the auction ever takes place.

On the flip side of the coin, car prices can zoom skyward just as easily as it can drop through the floor. Picking up your dream car for bargain basement pricing isn't impossible, but it doesn't happen often.

Where Can I Find An Auto Auction?

You can find an auto auction nearby regardless of where you are in the country. They're usually held by privately sponsored auction houses, police departments, or Federal or government agencies. Schedules of when and where these auctions are taking place near you are usually available in the participating agencies' offices, online in websites or even in company brochures and local newspapers. Go ahead and check one out -- maybe you'll find that cheap used truck you've been looking for!

Registration Required

One downside to vehicle auctions is that you need to pay a registration fee to get started. This fee is paid at the site of the auction on the same day as the event.

Bare Bones Manufacturer's Warranty

It's important to consider that any car you buy in an auction is not going to carry an "in house" warranty like a dealership would. Any manufacturer warranty would still apply, though.

Do These Vehicles Actually Work?

Cheap used trucks and other vehicles you can look at during an auction aren't available for test drives, but any bidders who would like to can do some small scale testing. Try out the air conditioning, heating, the engine, and many other accessories which can run while the vehicle is on. It's not much, but at least you know the ignition will turn.

How Is Payment Issued?

Vehicles sold at auctions must be paid for, and fortunately they're paid for the same way you'd buy a car anywhere else: credit card, cash or check. Just to be on the safe side, double check with the auction house and figure out if there are any special rules for your auction.

When An Auction Is Won...

When you win an auction, you are legally bound to pay the amount you agreed to pay over a certain period of time. If you're not able to make your payments for whatever reason, you'll be charged additional fees and penalties to compensate for your misjudgement.

Used commercial vehicles are easy to find at auctions country-wide, but they're also ready to be bought online. When you find one you like, do some research into the seller and their business practices. Buy cheap trucks from a verified web resource that can help hook you up with the right vehicle through a dealer who wants the right amount of cash.

Auto Shipping – Now That My Bags Are Packed What About Shipping My Car

One burning question that dealers, wholesalers, collectors, as well as people relocating for whatever reason within the United States ask thousands of times a day is "What is the cost of shipping my vehicle? When moving any important item, like a car or other means of transportation, cost is a premier consideration. What if I told you, though, that it may not be the MOST important question to ask?

Usually, a person will be dealing with brokers in the car transportation business. These brokerage firms do not operate long-haul trucks of their own. They act as agents of the trucking companies by taking an order to move a vehicle. They make an estimate of what to charge a trucking company, withhold a percentage of this fee, which they will charge you for the task of arranging shipment. They then broker out the job by posting on online load boards that are visible to car haulers that are in the business of operating trucks to move about the country. If this posted quote is too low, it will not attract any of these car hauling truck companies and your vehicle will sit waiting to be relocated for a very long time. Make sure that the price the broker is offering is reasonable enough in the industry to get your car from one place to another in a timely manner. As with so many other costs, the lowest price is not always the way to go.

Insurance coverage on the vehicle and its contents is another very important cost item to consider. Should some unforeseen accident occur that harms your vehicle while in-transit, you want it protected, just as you would any property that belongs to you. The questions to ask of importance here are what coverage does the trucker's insurance provide in case of damage or loss and also, the trucker may have brokered it out at least in part to another trucker and you will want to get a copy of that car hauler's insurance certificate as well. Always make sure, if at all possible, to have the carrier's insurance certificate list you as the certificate holder. Should some harm befall your vehicle and/or its contents, then you can file the claim yourself directly to the insurance company.

The quality and reputation of the auto transportation outfit that is handling the transport of your vehicle is also another concern of yours. You really have no idea about the company or companies that are moving your vehicle unless you are directly involved in the daily business of transporting vehicles yourself. Do some research about these companies. Talk to a car dealer who undoubtedly ships vehicles on a regular basis and find out who they use. Go online and read reviews about various companies to get as much information as you can before you start collecting bids. Go to safersys.org, a website operated by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Association, and take a look at a company's safety profile. This site can be of invaluable assistance to you in seeking a reputable transport company.

Looking to get your car some distance from A to Z involves several considerations. Not just the least expensive, but the safest and sometimes the timeliest way to get your wheeled friend happily to its new home.

Helpful Hints For Decal Removal

All sorts of products that are bought these days come with decals on them from the manufacturer. Finding ways to remove the decals are a task that many people are faced with. Here we will look at some advice that can help people get through this chore with far more ease.

Some things that many people have in their homes can be one of the natural ways that a person can go about decal removal. Using these natural things can be a great option if the decal is relatively new.

Using water and a putty knife, or other dull knife can be a good choice when it comes to removing decals. Spraying that area of the decal until it is drenched and then gently using the putty knife to lift the decal is very effective on many of the items that have decals on them. Vinegar is another great option that a lot of people use instead of water, and it has just as effective results as the water.

There are other ways of going about decal removal. Using other commercially developed products are very popular when it comes to this type of job. WD-40 is great for helping remove the decals that are stuck on the item. When using this all that needs to be done is spray it on the area of the decal thoroughly. Allow it to sit for a minute or so, and then the decal should peel right off of the surface. It is a very simple way to overcome the problem.

Commercial products that are designed specifically for removing decals are another way that people get this task done. These can be found in many hardware or department stores around the country. It is also very easy to use for decal removal. Just spray the contents onto the decal and many times the decal can be lifted right off without even using a knife of any kind. The ease of this product makes it one of the best options around.

No matter what option you use for the decal removal task you are doing, make sure that you have a cloth readily available to clean up any overspray that may occur. You also want to be careful with some of the commercial products that they do not get on other areas that are in close proximity to where the decal is located. Many of these can cause damage such as staining, and this is definitely not what you want to have happen.

Taking the time to look around at all of the options that are available for decal removal can help you make the best choice for the situation that you are in. Some things are suited for a specific type of problem and if used on other things may not be as effective as you would like.

Be very careful with decal removal as there is a risk of scratching the areas that are surrounding the decal. This is something that no one wants to have happen especially to an item that has just been purchased. Being careful and taking your time can help you make sure that damaging the surrounding area is something that will not happen to you.

It doesn't have to be expensive to get decal removal for your company fleet. Learn more about how Hinton Water Blasting is able to quickly remove vehicle decals and logos.

Chrome Bulbs and HID Headlights (Simple Modifications)

If you've been doing some research on modifying your vehicle, you know that there is a ton of ways you could go about doing this. Some of the most popular modifications to do at the moment are adding HID Headlights to your vehicles, plus adding Clear Corner Lenses to your turn signals and adding Chrome Bulbs to the blinker lights. Even thought this modification is one of the simplest to do, you'll discover that doing this will make your car stand out above the rest.

High Density Discharge lighting system or best known as HID lighting is the newest trend for vehicles. HID lights produce much more light than the standard bulbs. If you've looked into HID Bulbs, you'll see that there are different options, such as Halo Bulbs, Angel Eyes, or Diamond Bulbs.

If you're thinking about adding clear corner lenses to your vehicles, you really need to consider getting a pair of Stealth Auto Chrome Bulbs. The reason is because you will definitely find a huge difference when compared to different chrome bulbs on the market. If you compare the competitors' bulbs with Stealth Auto, you'll find that the chrome bulbs still have a small hint of yellow when looking at them. With Stealth Auto, these bulbs look invisible and show no hint of yellow in the bulb. The best part of these bulbs is they're completely street legal. When the bulbs are turned on, they blink in a chrome/yellow color.

Chrome Bulbs fit into every vehicle on the market and even fits on Motorcycles too. Stealth Auto creates these bulbs in the United States and takes customer satisfaction as a priority.

Auto Manufacturers are now installing HID Headlights and Clear Corners to their newer vehicles. You might have heard somewhere that HID Headlights are actually illegal. The Police only have problems with aftermarket kits that are brighter than 6000k-8000k and are also installed pointing up and blinding people. If you follow these simple guidelines, you shouldn't have any problems getting pulled over. Check out your local laws by going to DMV.ORG.

Learn more about HID Headlights, & read David Ostiguy's blog on adding Chrome Bulbs & other auto modifications.

Auto Shipping International Style

Traveling is awesome. It broadens your heart, mind and soul. There is no other way for you to feast on the sounds, colors, cultures, food, and folk found in this great wide world of ours. Whether travelling by foot, train, air or car, you are in for a rare adventure. Sometimes, there may be a special vehicle that you wish to accompany you in your international travel. Obviously, this is a cause for additional planning on your part. Now, you have to have travel plans for your vehicle as well yourself.

Vehicle Shipment

I would not suggest you do this on your own. There are international auto shipping companies that can assist you with this. It is important that you find a good one.

The majority of time it takes approximately 20 to 30 days for shipping your vehicle. On some specific routes the company may go for 7 to-- days to complete the trip but you are always safer to allow more time. After all they are shipping a vehicle overseas. International shipping companies will allow you to plan up to two months before departure, but don't forget to contact the shipper about two weeks in advance of the shipment. For a price, if you must, shorter times can be arranged on an individual basis giving you priority. As for vehicle pick up at your destination, you are normally to do so within two or three days after its arrival. If the shipping company finds that your destination point is not accessible to you, they will hire a driver to get it as close as possible to your chosen location. If you are for some reason not available at the time the driver gets your vehicle to the appointed spot, you may have to go to a terminal to pick it up. It is a good idea, in any case, to have a trusted friend or family member available to pick it up in your stead.

Again, for a price, you can ask for a different time frame or delivery and they will try to accommodate your schedule. The price will vary depending on individual scheduling circumstances. The size and weight of the vehicle is the determining factor in calculating the rate. You are allowed to either prepay or pay an agent at the destination country. Most companies will accept personal checks, money orders, cashier's checks or major credit cards. An absolute must for the shippers' convenience is that your gas tank be as low as possible when shipping your vehicle overseas.

Please note that even though it seems like a grand opportunity to load up your vehicle with your personal belongings since it is going internationally, do not do this. It is prohibited by a Department of Transportation ruling of'98. Trucks are checked at random for prohibited items within them. Prohibited items would include household goods or any belongings of a personal nature. They will be disposed of if found. Personal goods are not covered by the shippers carrier insurance, so this practice is very risky. This regulation covers domestic as well as international vehicle shipments. This "contraband" also adds to the weight of your vehicle which could damage its suspension during loading and unloading, thus compromises the shipping company. Just don't do it.
