The secret to a no hassle move is to have a professional company sort everything out for you. If you are preparing for a relocation in Dubai, one thing you’re going to need is movers who can give you expert support with packing and moving. As it happens, there are many different movers in Dubai to choose from who provide this kind of service as normal. Most of the personnel at these movers are experienced in packing for business and residential moves and are familiar with Dubai. Many will also disassemble and reassemble some of the larger items for you. Look online, visit forums, and find a moving firm with positive reviews and good customer feedback that you can trust for the move.
Before you arrange for the rental truck here’s some advice:
You will require lots of boxes for all your possessions if you want to save some money. You’ll need to put together a list of all of the items for easy reference that you need to have packed up and loaded on the truck. Most movers will offer to sell you boxes and the majority of these companies will buy back any which you do not use.
Pack in an ordered fashion. E.g. pack lights and their bulbs together, books and their bookends in the same boxes etc. If you have any wall hangings keep their wall fastenings in the same box so they remain together. This can simplify things and save you a load of time when you’re unpacking at your destination. While you’re packing, put items which go together in the same boxes and don’t overload.
Overloading a box could result in the bottom falling out which is the last thing you want. Be sure to place a label on your boxes. Use the names of the rooms on the labels. This makes unpacking quicker and easier at you destination as the removal crew know exactly where to place your boxes.
Another thing you can do to make packing and unpacking easier is to keep numbered lists of what items are in each box. Note down the condition of the piece of furniture and if there are any scratches and mark out any delicate pieces you want them to take special care of. Televisions and artwork can be bubble wrapped and carried in a safe compartment of the removal van.
If the company will be doing the disassembly, ensure they wrap each section of your furniture on its own. e.g. Glass doors from television cabinets should be kept apart with cardboard inter-liners and then bubble wrapped. Wooden parts of any beds should be wrapped carefully and bound together with screws and bolts placed in a plastic bag and fastened to the bed so they can be found easily at your destination.
You will want to be present when loading your items to ensure everything is loaded as you wish. Have your checklist and mark it as each item is loaded onto the truck. If you are not able to be at the destination for any reason you will need to give a copy of your list to whoever else is supervising the unloading. They should check off each item on the list as it is brought in to your new location and inspect them for damage. Then after each piece is checked, they can mark it off the list which you made before the trip, making any notes of damage.
These a just a few key areas of consideration when packing and moving all of your valuable belongings that should help you have an easy, stress free move.
