Don’t get me wrong all machines make noises as they get older and a car is a machine. The trick is to know when your cars making noises warning you that something is about to go very wrong.
Some noises that are not normal are high pitch squeals, grinding sounds, and vibrating sounds. Anytime you hear these types of noises you want to have your cars check immediately. If you listen carefully you can actually hear where the noise is coming from so you can explain it to your mechanic. Also note when it’s making the noise. Is it when you brake or accelerate? Or is it when it’s idling?
When your car is making sounds while you are braking it’s most likely a brake problem. Either your brakes are low, or they’re completely worn out. If you hear a noise while you go over bumps or into dips then you will need to have your suspension checked out. Whether you hear these noises in these places or somewhere else it’s a good idea to have your car taken in to have it checked out.
Failure to do so may result in further damage to your car. This can be fatal, especially if the problem is engine related. The engine itself makes all kinds of noises when it’s operating in good health and in bad. However if something’s going wrong with your engine typically you’ll know.
Another way to know if you are having a problem is by your vehicles performance. If your car is running differently than usual then you should take it in to a mechanic. Keep an eye out for poor gas mileage, rough acceleration, very hard starts, not starting, and rough idling. Pay close attention to your car. To avoid mechanical issues with your vehicle here are some tips. Number one would be to have your car maintained regularly. Also, have your brakes, suspension, undercarriage, and tires checked frequently even when there isn’t any warning signs. The last tip is to drive your car like it matters. Don’t idle to high, and don’t be rough with it.

Do you recall the cartoon the Flintstones? I love the episode about automotive auctions. The car they are bidding on is a gangster car involved in a bank robbery. They do not know a gangster sent one of his henchmen to bid the car and win it and bring it to their hideout. Fred is warned by the minion not to bid on it. Fred takes this as a challenge. Fred wins the bid because the henchman is eating a peanut butter sandwich and his mouth sticks and cannot open his mouth to outbid Fred.
The henchman finds out Fred’s address after the boys drive off with the car from the automotive auction records. Fred and Barney do not realize the trunk is full of stolen money. They drive home to surprise their wives.
They show up at their homes with the gangsters stalking them right behind. The women fall in love with the big sedan. They want to throw a party in celebration. So they send the boys to the market for food. The gangsters are right behind them. They open up on the boys in front of them.
By this time the minion has informed the gangster and he and his other henchmen have gone to Fred’s home and have followed him to the market. They start firing on Fred and Barney in the car ahead of them. The caveman pistols are a type of sling shot with a wooden barrel which fires rocks.
The boys are shelled with rocks. We believe that the rocks fired from these guns can be deadly. They are rocks after all. It worked for David against Goliath. The boys race trying to keep in front of their attackers. Up ahead is a large house on a hill. They race up the road looking for safety.
But they do not know this is the hide out of the head gangster. Fred and Barney are trapped. The gangsters tie them up and start asking where the money is. The boys have no idea what they are talkiing about. They were simply looking for a good deal at the automotive auction. The gangsters find the money in the trunk to the surprise of Fred and Barney.
The gangsters believe they are telling the truth that they did not know about the money. But because they know too much they have to be disposed of. He loads his gun. All of a sudden the police rush in. They had the car under surveillance at all times. They were trying to trap the gangster and his henchmen. They knew he would try to buy the car from the auction.
Fred and Barney are heroes. They do not end up with the car but they get a small reward for their trouble. Now you will probably not have such an adventure when you go to get a great deal at an automotive auction. All you will get is a good car at a great price.
